Pamplona, Spain
Code: CS13
The building, located in the city of Pamplona, consists of five floors above ground for apartments, a ground floor for access and building services rooms, and one more below ground, for parking and storage rooms. Two facades, located in the corner of the plot, are orientated to northwest and northeast, and the other two are party walls. In the south of the plot there is a courtyard for lighting and ventilation.
The building was constructed in 1993 using a traditional construction system: concrete floors and pillars, a double-leaf brick facade with mineral wool inside the chamber, flat roof without insulation, and wooden exterior framing with double glazing.
Pre-monitoring and air quality analysis are finished. The project team collected the energy bills before and the design stage is finished as well. Because of inflation and increased prices, the construction phase has not started yet.
It is a partial renovation including the following measures:
-Building envelope insulation (facades, roof, floor towards basement)
-Roof renovation, replacing the pitched roof with a pitched roof+flat roof, and the installation of a services room for the heat pump and the boiler
-Ventilated facade installation
-Windows, doors, and roller shutter replacement
-Windows airtightness improvement
-Ventilation system with heat recovery installation
-Heating and cooling systems renovation
-Existing thermal bridges improvement
-Photovoltaic system installation
No changes are planned for the interior layout of the dwellings.
Streamlined approach with conventional construction methodology.
