Original situation

1970's non-residential concrete building on the campus in Metz.  The building is used as a training centre for the activities of IUT GMP, Lorraine University. A  fast,  high quality renovation process is the goal of this project and would save 350 MWh fossil gas per year.

Renovation approach

External insulation with airtightness treatment on a structure with a complex shape to receive and fix an insulation. Reduction and treatment of thermal bridges in the façade by use of prefabricated elements.

Modernisation proposal

Prefabricated global retrofit to EnerPHit level thanks to a prefabricated wall system produced by the company "Hunsinger". Triple-glaze windows and a comfort ventilation system are already inserted into the wall.

Efficiency improvement

The improvement of an EnerPHit renovated building has an enormous effect in this cold part of the Jura near Geneva: it shows a plus 6x reduction on the heating demand!
