Original situation

1970's non-residential concrete building on the campus in Metz.  The building is used as a training centre for the activities of IUT GMP, Lorraine University. A well and fast renovated building is the aim in this project and would be a big plus.

Renovation approach

External insulation with airtightness treatment on a structure with a complex shape to receive and fix an insulation. Reduction and treatment of thermal bridges in the façade by use of prefabricated elements. The prefabricated elements are currently tested for fire safety and the work on-site is about to begin.

Modernisation proposal

Prefabricated global retrofit to EnerPHit level thanks to a prefabricated wall system. Triple-glaze windows and a comfort ventilation system are already inserted into the wall.

Efficiency improvement

The improvement of an EnerPHit renovated building has an enormous effect in this cold part of the Jura near Geneva: it shows a plus 10x reduction on heating demand!
