Original situation

1960s concrete non-residential building on the outskirts of Lons le Saunier. The building is used by AJENA, “Association Jurassienne d’Energies reNouvelAbles", as a centre for training on retrofitting, so a well renovated building would be a big plus, making obsolete its old fuel heating system and giving more sense to renewable energy on top of the building.

 

Renovation approach

Monitoring post-renovation is now underway. The project's certification is now completed and will be awarded on September 23, 2023, during the building's inaugual ceremony.

Modernisation proposal

Internal Insulation on the “blind” north wall. On the south wall: mounted on site “wooden boxes” to hold insulation . Comfort ventilation with high performance heat recovery. Air tightness and reduction of thermal bridges.

Efficiency improvement

The improvement that an EnerPHit renovated building can offer is huge in this cold part of Jura near Geneva, reducing heating demand by a factor of 10.
